Heinls Flower Shop is the oldest flower shop in Terre Haute and probably Indiana. Established in 1863 by John G. Heinl and his brother. Heinls was originally located at 8th & Cherry and in 1903 moved to its current location at 7th and Walnut.

Whether you’re from the Wabash Valley or not, you may have heard of the legend of Stiffy Green. Well, Stiffy Green was John G. Heinl’s dog. To learn more about the history please visit these sites:

Vonda Monts is the current owner since 2001 and has been a long life resident in Terre Haute. Her staff of friendly and caring people are there to help in your floral or gift selection.

That means the products and arrangements you request are designed at Heinl’s Flower Shop and we deliver the flowers, plants, fruit baskets, balloons, candy, gifts and stuffed toys to the following areas: Terre Haute and all of Vigo County, Lewis, New Goshen, Praireton, Pimento, Prairie Creek, Rosedale, Riley, Sanford, Seelyville, St. Mary of the Woods, West Terre Haute, and also all Funeral Homes in the city of Brazil and the city of Clinton. We also wire out orders all over the world through Teleflora.

Our shop is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. We are closed on Sundays.

We do our best to accommodate requests for specific deliveries for specific times of the day, but we cannot guarantee it during holiday times. Also during holiday times we may have extended hours other than is what is specified.

To assure on-time delivery and any specific requests during the busy holiday season, place your order at least three (3) days prior and preferably a week before the following major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter, Administrative Professionals Week, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.

Our shop will always be closed on the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Mothers Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Occasionally, substitutions may be necessary to create your bouquet due to the availability of certain flowers in various parts of the country. Care is taken to maintain the style, theme and color scheme of the arrangement, using flowers of equal value. Additionally, the substitution of certain keepsake items may be necessary due to increased demand, especially during major holidays. In single-flower arrangements, such as an all rose bouquet, or orchids, we will make every attempt to match the flower type, but may substitute with another color.

A local delivery fee of $6.95 in most areas will be added to each order for each address. (For semi-local deliveries outside our normal delivery area, this fee may vary.)

Out of Local Delivery Areas or out of the State, Service fee is $10.00

Our normal delivery period is an all day time frame of anywhere between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Holidays may be later). We try to deliver to all businesses before 5:00 p.m.

U.S. orders must be received before 12:00 p.m. in the recipient's time zone to assure same-day delivery. Orders received after that time will be delivered the following day.

We will do our best to accommodate deliveries at specific times of day, but we cannot guarantee it.

We are unable to make deliveries on Sundays. Deliveries requested on this day will be delivered the following business day.

Delivery of orders to rural route addresses or cemeteries cannot be guaranteed unless we have complete directions or can call for directions to rural routes. For cemeteries we need lot and grave numbers in order to assure delivery.

We will be happy to accept your international orders if you call our shop directly. We are unable to accept international orders over the Internet.

Out of Town Deliveries

For the convenience of our customers, Heinl’s maintains a network of preferred Teleflora florists, in whom we have the confidence they will care for your order as professionally as we do locally. While it is true that you can call another florist directly, we think it is an advantage for you to let Heinls do all the work and accept all the responsibility. Your process for selecting a florist would be quite random and arbitrary, while we maintain a selective database of reputable florists with whom we have a relationship or are familiar with their standards. Additionally, Heinl’s guarantees the order and becomes your advocate if you were to be disappointed in any way. Orders for delivery out of town should be placed as early as possible, but no later than 1:00 pm in the time zone where we’ll be sending the delivery. Out-of-town business deliveries should be placed 24 hours in advance whenever possible. Specific timed deliveries are extremely difficult to promise when the order is going outside our local delivery area, but we will do our best to convince the filling florist to deliver as requested.

International deliveries cannot be ordered on the website. There are too many variables affected by the country of destination. Delivery and service fees on international orders typically total $19.95. Please call our main store (800-205-5162) for more information or to place your order.

Heinl’s Flower Shop is committed to ethical standards for the floral industry. We are active in industry associations and committees, working to ensure fair practices and consumer confidence. We always transmit your out-of-town order to the filling florist at 100% value of your product purchase plus an additional $10.00 to cover delivery expenses. The remaining service fee covers our expenses. Our century-old reputation with consumers and industry peers is on the line with every order. You can trust us!
